Northwich Basketball Club has grown from a local council-started club into a broad community programme for junior, senior, recreational, and competitive basketball.
The club was originally established by Vale Royal District Council in about 2002. It has previously played under names including Wyvern Wolves, Winsford Wolves, Vale Royal Wolves, and Northwich Jets before becoming Northwich Basketball Club.
Its core purpose has stayed consistent: giving local people a positive, friendly place to play and develop basketball in and around Northwich.
Northwich Basketball Club offers sessions from U10s upwards, girls-only basketball, senior scrimmage, community training, and competitive regional and national league pathways. The club now supports more than 200 active players after its post-pandemic rebuild.
The club has a long record in the Warrington Central Venue League, including 34 playoff titles across junior and men's age groups since 2007.
The club keeps its core operating documents in place for Basketball England activity and is working to build more local league opportunities that support player development through close, well-contested games.
